The 1st Conference of the European project Decision Support System for Global Water Balance (GwB) took place on 15 and 16 October 2026 in Burgas, Bulgaria.
The project is implemented within the framework of the Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin 2021–2027 program and aims to develop an integrated Decision Support System for the Global Water Balance (DSS-GwB), with an emphasis on sustainable water resources management, improving irrigation efficiency and strengthening the resilience of agricultural production to the challenges of climate change.
The first day of the event was held under the title “National Approaches to Water and Food Security”, with the participation of local stakeholders. The work focused on the exchange of views, experiences and know-how on water resources management and food security.
The second day, entitled “Project Progress, Technical Integration, Training and Reporting”, was dedicated to the progress of the project implementation and the coordination of technical and management work between the partners.
The 1st Conference was an important step in strengthening cooperation between partners and local stakeholders, as well as in promoting common approaches aimed at the rational management of water resources and strengthening the resilience of agri-food systems in the wider Black Sea region.
